My least favourite kind of confrontation is reflection, and I struggle with the act of reconciliation: i can't see how that's another me standing there in the darkened window with the light beside me.

And all that I know is only a younger me could conceivably die happy right now.

Of a night when I would come across this tiled self, rubber stripes across my face, that public me would soon disappear amidst the steam and, all alone, I'd take my place in the mirror.
